From the port, we depart to Lindos, the island’s second largest settlement area attracting the highest number of tourists, where Italian architecture blends with Greek culture. In Lindos, earning its fame with its white houses, narrow paved streets, steps embellished with mosaics, the Acropolis and Crusader Castle, and its lovely shops, we enjoy the breathtaking view onto the natural port from the Temple of the Lindian Athena and onto St. Paul’s Bay.
After some free time, we continue from Lindos to ship to have our lunch. After lunch we will go to the centre of the island and enter the Old Town through the Porte d’Amboise Gate. After viewing the most important Ottoman sites on the island the Hafi z Ahmed Agha Library and the Suleiman Mosque, with a guide who will provide a detailed tour of the site, we visit Europe’s best preserved palace, the Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights where the Jerusalem Knights lived and which is surrounded by the largest walls of medieval times and protected today by UNESCO. Following a walk on the ancient pavements of the world-famous Street of Knights, we visit the Knights’ Hospital, the Hippocrates Fountain and the Ibrahim Pasha Mosque.
